Job Description

Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will serve as strategic business partner supporting the Senior Leadership Team.  Responsibilities include the management of operational accounting and reporting, management reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, capital spending, industry bench- marking, modeling and cost analysis for Foster Farms.  

Essential Functions:

Prepare and present weekly and period results to SVP of Operations and management team. Achieve financial goals by developing weekly and period results to analyze cost and drive reductions

Lead monthly cost reviews and the review of standard costs with emphasis on developing plans to meet company goals.

Lead the operational accounting period close and accounting/reporting process improvement initiatives. Create cost efficiencies and standards across the organization.

Perform strategic business analysis including analysis of capital spending.

Develop new product costing models; monitor and analyze new product start-ups at the plant.

Develop team members to take on higher level responsibilities.

Identify opportunities to improve plant performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance with prior cost/operational accounting experience, MBA preferred

Demonstrated ability to attract and retain top talent, with a proven track record of effective staff development

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

7+ years of cost analysis/cost accounting experience in a fast paced environment

Highly analytical with experience in cost modeling and scenario analysis

Must be action oriented and have the ability to multi task and change direction

Must have the ability to deal effectively with large amounts of data

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for 4+ hours a day

Ability to travel 

Must have reliable and consistent attendance
