Job Description

Purpose of Position:

The function of this position is to provide support the Accounting and Financial Systems Manager in the areas of developing, maintaining and leveraging the Company’s planning, forecasting, reporting, data integrity and analyses, participation in systems implementations for ERP, Planning, and Reporting applications, including master data structure and maintenance, transactional data flows, technical development and support, and special projects as needed to support business requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

Support administration of COPA Operating Concern design, functionality, configuration, integration, and BW reporting

Assure continuous financial/reporting data integrity and assist finance/accounting users to identify and correct financial system errors (SAP FI, COPA, BW)

Development and integration testing of enhancements to leverage SAP functionality on project basis

Analysis and development of specifications for business requirements

Data gathering, reconciliation, structuring for internal and external project requirements

Facilitation of continued deployment and upgrades of SAP-ERP solutions

New finance employee training and support (SAP FI, COPA, BW)

Assist in the administration of Cognos planning design, functionality, maintenance, job execution, training

Reporting design, development, maintenance, training (ECC and BW)

FI/CO/Cognos Master Data maintenance

Backup and training resource to Corporate Accounting for Period Close SAP procedures and reconciliation of FI/CO/COPA/BW data

Backup and training resource to Corporate Accounting for support of annual external audit data gathering

Additional Functions:

Preparation of Information Systems Request documentation

Preparation of training materials / delivery of end user training for SAP FI, COPA, BW to finance group (and other departments as required)

Development of Cognos Planning applications, enhancements and reporting

Special data analysis and tracking for unusual business events

Other special projects as assigned



Bachelor’s degree with strong emphasis on Accounting/Finance/Information Technology

Excellent understanding of Company financial systems and reporting/analysis requirements, independent research / data mining capability, and user support / training / development skills

Excellent understanding of system integration / master data

Must understand the organizational implications of implementing a particular solution and have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability

Must be able to communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team members, both written and verbal

Experience producing Company weekly, periodic, quarterly and annual financial reporting and experience managing the annual external audit

Highly motivated, service oriented, self-starter and have the ability to multi-task and work to an aggressive schedule

Ability to work in a structured, disciplined and fast-paced environment

Deep understanding of data storage, structures and reporting tools for best match to reporting/analysis requirements

Excellent technical skills (i.e. SAP, BW, SQL, Cognos, MS Office suite, MS Project, Winshuttle, etc.)

SAP ECC experience – FI/CO/COPA/PCA/MM/SD/Logistics – configuration, integration, dataflows, transaction execution, report writing, results analysis, master data structures, results analysis

SAP BW experience –  design, configuration, datasource development, transfer rules, update rules, data extraction/uploads, security roles, query /  report writing

Cognos Planning experience – design, modeling, implementation, maintenance, training, reporting
