Job Description

Purpose of Position:

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the gathering of data and prepare the corporate assumptions, prepare the budget, forecasts and analysis for actuals for bonus, fringe, other cost of goods sold, and areas of SG&A, run corporate period and year end close processes, acts in a consulting manner for all areas with regard to budget and close processes, and provides support and backup to the cash management, restaurant accounting, and escheatment processes.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform period and year end close processes including identifying and resolving issues, balancing SAP and BW, and posting period and year end journal entries.

Workers compensation reporting and reconciliation, account reconciliations for the majority of the corporate profit centers, summarizes legal expenses, assisting external auditors with roll forward schedules and other miscellaneous requests

Coordinate the gathering of data and prepare the corporate assumptions including all insurance allocations, fringe rates, property taxes, merit increases, bonus, exempt and clerical labor, pension, profit sharing, 401k, and payroll taxes

Prepares the budget and forecasts for bonus, fringe, other cost of goods sold, and areas of SG&A.  Perform analysis and draft commentary on actual results to forecast/budget on a period, quarterly and annual basis.

Acts in a consulting manner for all areas with regard to budget and close processes as well as assisting other in understanding the flow of financial information

Identify and implement process improvements to make department more efficient

Supports and acts as backup for restaurant accounting and reporting, cash receipts, positive pay, scanning, and dairy billing.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience

Sound understanding of accounting principles and flow of financial information

Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and decision making ability

Detail oriented and analytical

Must be able to communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team members, both written and verbal

Highly motivated, service oriented, self-starter and have the ability to multi-task and work to an aggressive schedule

Experience with SAP or similar ERP system

High proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel and Word), and 10 key by touch
