Job Description

Pay Rate: $31.55 per hour

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm.  Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

  • Prioritize, perform, and document daily servicing and preventative maintenance for Plant equipment and rolling stock.
  • Perform periodic inspections of plant for maintenance, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns on plant equipment and rolling stock.
  • Adjust burner/dryer controls to optimize efficiency and compliance with air board regulations.
  • Fabricate components as needed for repairs and modifications.
  • Housekeeping of shop and project clean up.
  • Perform duties of Plant Operator and Loader as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks including lifting (up to 100 lbs.), working in confined spaces, ability to work at heights (70 feet), climbing up/down ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, stand, and reach on a daily/repetitive basis.
  • Must have demonstrated mechanical experience repairing heavy duty equipment (articulating front-end Loaders and heavy trucks and trailers), agricultural equipment (Farm tractors, articulating tractors, and various implements).
  • Computer diagnostic abilities
  • Engine cooling, electrical, air and hydraulic, diesel engines systems diagnostics and repairs
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Light welding and fabrication.
  • Basic plumbing skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair: diesel fired burner, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical problems.
  • Good problem solving/diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to operate all plant equipment and machinery including rolling stock (trucks/trailers, forklifts, loaders, manlifts)
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed.
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Excellent attendance record.
