Job Description

Pay Range: $70,375-$87,975

  • Responsible for turkey performance, quality, and production costs on ranches and insure, that, through a well-trained staff of Field Supervisors and Field Supervisor Trainees.
  • Will meet requirements of the annual production schedule, animal welfare standards and safety. 
  • Implementing and controlling field compliance with grow-out, disease prevention, and quality programs including animal welfare and food safety.
  • Coordinating with and informing technical personnel, administrative, service, and other managers of any information that could affect their decisions or influence bird performance.
  • Assist in the development and submission of proposals, budgets, and projections for chicken and production facilities and activities.
  • Maintain an efficient ranch staff that operates efficiently and safely. Includes training to develop promotable people on staff with interest in advancement and long-term security for the department and the company.
  • Manage maintenance of chicken ranch facilities, equipment, and landscaping. Includes vehicular, industrial safety, and maintenance awareness programs.
  • Maintain good inter-company and community relations.
  • Maintain good employer/employee relations within area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, or related field or 4 to 7 years of chicken grow-out experience at a supervisory level.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented. Must have the ability to multi-task and change direction.
  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid knowledge of PC-Excel and Word.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, assertive, objective, resourceful, and work independently with little supervision.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment and critical thinking ability.
  • Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively; must possess strong human resources skills.
  • Excellent teamwork ability.
  • Must have a strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license and clean DMV record.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce all company policies and guidelines including Biosecurity and Animal Welfare.
  • Must not own any birds where resides.
  • Other duties as assigned.
