Job Description

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and maintain light maintenance all assigned hatchers and incubators for temperature and humidity and push incubator racks into incubators per scheduled set time.
  • Responsible for monitoring incubator and hatch machines; correcting problems with light maintenance work. 
  • Make effective decisions on machine malfunctions. 
  • Responsible for setting the right eggs as per the set sheet. 
  • Responsible for monitoring room temperature and humidifiers
  • Communicates with Supervisor and/or lead person regarding work assignment problems.
  • Communicates with maintenance and other employees regarding machine malfunctions.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Must have some mechanical aptitude to fix incubators, hatchers.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach above head.
  • Able to move full egg racks (on wheels) weighing approximately 1400—1600 pounds.
  • Ability to meet company standards.
  • Ability to use sanitation tools (i.e., power hoses, foggers).
  • Must adhere to disease control policies.
  • Must be certifiable to operate a pallet jack and/or forklift.
  • Must be respirator certified.

Additional Functions.

Other duties which include, but are not limited to, traying the correct eggs as per the set sheet, properly loading and unloading eggs and or chicks, transferring, sanitation, and fogging hatchery rooms.
