Job Description

Pay Range: $69,400 to $82,285 per year

Purpose of position:

Provide accounting, reporting, analytical analysis for debt and investments. Ensure all debt and investment activity is accounted for under US GAAP. Support Financial Reporting department on various system and process initiatives (See essential job functions for specific details.)

Essential Job Functions:

  • General Ledger – Record and track cash/investment/other journal entries. Assist with the period P&L close. Prepare and maintain account analysis worksheets (AAW’s) for selected balance sheet accounts.
  • Daily/Weekly/Period/Quarterly Reporting – Prepare and record journal entries for several accounts’ activity for the period. Review assigned accounts to ensure they are stated properly. Prepare weekly and period reporting for bank reconciliations and other business lines and departments.  Record daily cash receipts and other transactions.
  • Annual Audit – Assist and support manager and financial analyst with annual audit duties. This would include preparing support schedules, account confirmations, balance sheet roll forwards and other support documentation request by external auditors.
  • Internal Audit – Support internal audits, as needed. Conduct follow up audits and document results.
  • Forecast – Assist in aggregating data for Annual SG&A forecast. Assist in the review of actual to forecast SG&A variances on a period basis, including providing meaningful explanations for variances.  Develop forecasts for certain other business lines.
  • Balance Sheet Account Reviews – Review and reporting the status of account reconciliations to management. This will include reviewing AAW’s for accuracy, inquiring about account balances and how transactions are posted, recommending suggestions and communicating status of reviews to management.
  • Other – Participation with system and process initiatives, escheatment and survey process and ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • At least 1 year of Accounting/Financial analysis experience, preferably in food or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong accounting skills and sound understanding of financial statements
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, COGNOS)
  • Ability and willingness to learn new computer software and systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical & communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • CPA preferred
  • One-two year’s public accounting experience preferred.
