Purpose of Position:
Costco Account Lead position will be responsible for supporting all sales aspects of the Foster Farms business for D17, D18 and D19 in the Costco Bay Area & Texas regions. Will assist NAM in selling to other regions as well as cross train on the corporate aspects of the business (fresh chicken/turkey, rotisserie, corporate programs). This individual must be able to make formal presentations to the Buying team and must be focused on achieving annual sales, spending and profitability plans for these regions. Individual must have the necessary skill set to be successful within the fact based key account selling environment. Individual must show the skills to develop quickly into managing additional responsibilities/regions. Must have the ability to develop into role with larger responsibility.
Present new products with a clear understanding of the production process, quality attributes and POD’s vs. the competition and internal retail products.
Manage existing business; working cross functionally to ensure inventory and lead-time. Provide support in forecasting, sales budgeting/planning with the Costco Account team via the Bottom Up Sales Plan (Bottom Up Sales Plan) and by item as authorizations are attained. Work with the Costco Account team to prepare the Growth, Revenue, Sales & Profit (GRSP) as required by Sales Management
Sales Administrative work (TPM, Sales Updates, Customer Complaints, Spend Tracking Forms, Demo scheduling, Buy Docs, Promotional Contracts
Travel will be required
Weekend work may be requiredQualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
Must have 2+ years recent CPG Sales or Category Development experience.
Must have direct selling experience in CPG and/or perishable categories.
Computer/software knowledge (proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint Word etc)
Must be comfortable speaking in front of a group and must be willing and able to handle confrontation.
Demonstrated account experience with NSP responsibility
Experience with product category/SKU schematic development
Account forecast/demand planning experience for base and promotional volume
Experience utilizing category management and syndicated data information to develop customer specific market/account opportunities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and have strong inter-personal relationship skills
Ability to develop promotional account business plans to achieve growth and profit objectives
Strong organizational skills and strategic analysis of account specific and market data
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to obtain valid state Driver’s License and obtain reliable transportation for business travel
Consistent and reliable attendance
Have ability to work in fast paced, high pressure situations
